Since introducing our Apprentices/Trainees, we wanted to give you up and update on their individual progress and current positions.

Danielle is one of our four Apprentice Solicitors at BRR Law, and is coming to the end of her third year of the BPP Apprenticeship Scheme. Her current study topic is Company Law and once this is complete she will have one more year left of the Law Degree stage. Thereafter, in the final two years of the Apprenticeship, she will complete the SQE to qualify as a Solicitor. Danielle continues to work in the family department supervised by Head of Department Annie Mitchell and has conduct of her own cases such as Divorce, Finances, Children Act Proceedings, Care proceedings, Non-Molestation Orders and more. Danielle is now looking forward to moving into the advocacy role within family proceedings.

Roxanne will start the 4th year of the Solicitors Apprenticeship with BPP Law University in September this year. Roxanne says ‘as each year passes my knowledge, experience and confidence develops enabling me to provide quality advice to our clients’. Roxanne continues to practice in the Family Law Department, and says the Solicitors Apprenticeship is a perfect route to qualification for her to become a Family Law Solicitor at BRR Law., which is where her passion lies. Roxanne is supervised by Head of Department Annie Mitchell.

Thomas completed the first 6 months of his training contract in the Conveyancing Department and has taken his second seat within the Family Department, where he works on all aspects of family law matters. He is supervised by Head of Department Annie Mitchell and has particular focus on Children law cases. Thomas said ‘being in the Family Department is a completely different experience to Conveyancing but I am excited to experience all aspects of family law work and the skills that come with it.’ Thomas also conducted his first hearing in May.

Natasha initially a Trainee within the PI and Employment Department, has progressed and now has conduct of her own cases, dealing with both personal injury and clinical negligence matters. In addition, Natasha will shortly be assisting with and undertaking employment law cases. Natasha is pleased to share that she has also been awarded the Degree of Master of Arts in Criminal Justice in Crime Control from the University of Hull for which she attended her graduation ceremony in July; this having been postponed due to the pandemic. Natasha is also pleased to confirm she recently sat her first Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE). Her second SQE examinations are scheduled to be undertaken in April 2023 becoming fully qualified shortly thereafter. Natasha is supervised by the Head of Department and Partner Ian Horner.

Beth is now coming to the end of her third year as an Apprentice Solicitor, in which time she has progressed to managing her own caseload made up predominantly of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters. With the world opening back up after the pandemic, Beth is pleased to see many of her appointments have now reverted back to being face to face. This has allowed her to build on those client relationships and has seen several clients return for assistance with additional matters.  Beth is excited to further her learning in obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration over the next year. Dimitri has now moved out of the Commercial Department and into the second seat of his training contract in Conveyancing. Dimitri has taken on a higher caseload and handles a range of matters including the sales and purchases of both freehold and leasehold properties and transfers of equity. During his time in Conveyancing he has worked on a number of complex matters, but he is continually supported by the excellent team which surrounds him. The department is extremely busy and fast paced and he is excited to further learn and develop his skills. Dimitri is supervised by the head of department and Partner Matthew Inman.
