What is Road Safety Week?
Road Safety Week is the UK’s biggest road safety event, coordinated annually by Brake, the road safety charity. Road Safety Week aims to inspire communities and individuals to take action on road safety and promote life-saving messages throughout the week and beyond.
This year Road Safety Week takes places from the 19th – 25th November and focuses on being ‘Bike Smart’. More than a third of people killed or seriously injured on UK roads are those traveling by bike, with cyclists and motorcyclists being amongst the most vulnerable road users in the UK.
How Can You Get Involved?
If you’re an individual, employer or school, you could use the week to support Brake’s work by fundraising or make a donation.
Visit the main fundraising pages on the Brake website (http://roadsafetyweek.org.uk/fundraise) for some great fundraising ideas, and information on sponsored runs, treks and daredevil challenges.
Alternatively, you can contact Lisa on 01484 683294, or email email@example.com to discuss your ideas and request a free fundraising pack to help make your fundraiser a success.
You can also order other free and low-cost resources, such as t-shirts, balloons and posters, from the Brake shop here: https://shop.brake.org.uk/
